They are capable of performing multiple, independent liquid transfers, additions and dilutions with utmost precision, and minimal human work. They are designed keeping in mind the problems faced by lab analysts during sample processing, and reduce the contamination of the sample during processing.
Vulcan, Nitron and QPrep are capable of performing several steps involved in the sample digestion process, in any order as required. These steps include addition of the various reagents, heating for a specific amount of time at a fixed temperature, allowing the sample to cool, changing temperature, refilling, adding fumes, and many others.
